"Olympic Baseball" Exhibition in Cooperstown
On Friday, May 1, 2009, an exhibition, "Olympic Baseball" opened at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York., in the United States.
The exhibition features more than 50 artifacts from Australia, Italy, Japan and the United States. It will run through January of 2010 and is being held on the Museum's 2nd floor in the Today's Game exhibit.
Japan is represented by the following artifacts provided by our Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
1 A home jersey worn by Hiroyuki Sakaguchi (Nippon Oil) at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, when Japan won the bronze medal. (On loan from him by the courtesy of the JABA)
2 A visitor jersey worn by Daisuke Matsuzaka (the Seibu Lions) at the Athens Olympics in 2004, when Japan won the bronze medal.
