Induction Ceremony for 2008 Hall of Famers
The Induction ceremony for 2008 Hall of Famers will be conducted at Yokohama Stadium on Friday, August 1, 2008. The ceremony, which will last about 10 minutes starting at about 18:00, will precede the second game of the 2008 All-Star Series.
Koji Yamamoto (the Hiroshima Toyo Carp) and Tsuneo Horiuchi (the Yomiuri Giants) were elected by the Players Selection Committee. They will be given a replica of their plaque and also presented with a bouquet from their great seniors, Sachio Kinugasa and Sadaharu Oh.
The induction ceremony for the late Seiichi Shima, elected by the Special Selection Committee, will be held at Koshien Stadium on Friday, August 15, preceding the first game of the quarterfinals of the 90th National High School Baseball Championship. Shima was an outstanding southpaw in the history of the NHSBC.
