A sidearm pitcher of the Nankai Hawks in the latter part of 1950s and 1960s. His command of sliders and screwballs earned him 10 or more wins 12 times during his 18-year career (1954-1971) which ended with 221 wins and a 2.42 ERA. In 1962 and 1966 he led the PL in won-lost percentage and in 1968 won 31 games.
