Once he became a regular catcher in 1959, he was pivotal in the
Giants dynasty which attained the 9-season streak in the Japan
Series (1965-73).He managed the Seibu Lions (1986-94), which he
led to victory 8 times in the P.L., including two three-year
streaks in the Japan Series.
