The innovator of poetry in 1890s enjoyed playing baseball at prep course of Tokyo University. He wrote many poems on baseball and introductory articles,translating many baseball terms into Japanese. (1) It is far from boring nor tiring to watch a baseball game, which was originally invented by Americans. (2) Bases are full, spectators are anxious and expectant of run-scoring batting.
