The cleanup of the Waseda Nine led the team to 4 pennants in the TBBL. In 1953 his Daishowa Seishi wonin the ICBT. He managed the Waseda Nine (1964-73), and the All-Japan in the Japan-U.S. University Baseball Championship (1972,74).
